'Creature Table' is inspired by the classical Roman arch, and I am very interested in its traditional geometric principle, trying to transform such a typical thing into a new and dynamic thing. Usually a rectangular table has one leg in each corner, a total of four legs.
J McDonald gave designed Creature Table with three legs on purpose to mimic the shape of the Roman arch, which formed a synchronously strange and familiar feeling. When the artist added the chemical species of verdigris to it, Creature Table evolved from a very classical and historical design into something with a modern touch. Although Roman arches and industrial materials are clearly visible in this artwork, its creativity and vitality art what make it a unique functional art.
