The Curved Melon Totem is made out of several glazed ceramic melon-shaped objects that are laced on top of each other like beads on a necklace. The various bumped and dented melons are inspired by the organic process of rotting; an internal process that directly affects it’s exterior and surface. Each melon places itself in a different time frame.
In total, as a light installation or lamp piece, the Curved Melon Totem takes shape as a creature-like sculpture in which functionality, shape, and texture are explored.
